how well planned a revenge can be?
watched interesting movie titled oldboy. A korean movie which storyline was adapted from a japanese comics.
The movie start from a man named Daesu was drunk and his friend bailed. Both of them went to a telephone booth and wished Daesu's daughter happy birthday. Daesu was then kidnapped and imprisoned in a room, fed with dumplings every meal, for fifteen years. When he was released, he met a young female sushi chef and he spent his first night out at her room. Daesu planned to revenge and find out why is he imprisoned for fifteen years. while pursuing for the truth, both Daesu and the female chef fell in love and had intercourse. In the end Daesu found out that from the moment he was imprisoned till to his meeting with the female chef was arranged and planned by a guy named woojin. Woojin want to make Daesu suffered because Daesu spread words that woojin had relationship with his sister and his sister was pregnant and caused woojin's sister to commit suicide. The twist in the story is that the female chef is Daesu's daughter. And the ending is very open end and quite controversy cos u will be wondering what will happen to the incest relationship.
After watching the movie, I went to read the original manga and the story is different and the reasonale why the "woojin" want revenge is even more ridiculous in manga version than the movie version. A nice example of how the movie version is better than the manga version.
Next watched a horror movie titled three extremes 2: dumpling story. Disgusting way to attain eternal youth. However in this story, incest topic came up again when a 15 year old year had abortion because it is her father's child. At that moment, I remember a story told by my aunty's driver about a year ago. He was asking a father regarding the incest topic and why certain ppl love to commit this kind of affair. The father replied by imagine you had planted and nurtured a fruit tree for many years and finally the tree bore fruits the first time. So will you eat the fruits or give it to some one else? The answer indicated that this father will conduct an incestious crime on his family. WTF is that guy thinking to compare human to a fruit tree.
